Drop deck trailers — also known as step deck trailers — are flatbed trailers with a top and bottom deck. They’re designed to haul freight that can’t be transported on a standard flatbed, usually due to height restrictions. Double drops are used mainly for over-height freight.
Apex can accommodate your tall loads with either a single or double drop trailer. We also have single and double drop stretch trailer availability if your freight needs the support of the trailer so there is no overhang. Our stretch trailers are designed for loads that are too long and high to be transported on a standard deck.
Single drops usually have a bottom deck height of 42 inches; double drops usually have a deck high of 20 inches.
